Mihiteria is Director of Touchstone Therapy and Training Ltd, a dynamic provider of products and services that seek to motivate, educate and inspire people to transform their lives in profound and meaningful ways. She specialises in Diabetes Lifestyle Change and Life-Mastery programmes based in Auckland.
Mihiteria is a qualified psychotherapist who has worked across a range of public mental health sectors (including Liaison Psychiatry, Adult Community Mental Health and Maori Mental Health Services), Maori social services, and currently maintains her private practices on the North Shore and Ellerslie, Auckland through Touchstone Therapy & Training Ltd.
Mihiteria completed her Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy at the Auckland Institute of Technology (later Auckland University of Technology) and later joined the team as a Lecturer in the Dept of Psychotherapy & Applied Psychology.
Mihiteria is a Provisional Member of the New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists (Te Roopu Whakaora Hinengaro). Mihiteria's professional practice is guided and influenced through a blend of Maori and Euro-centric psychodynamic therapeutic philosophy and worldview. She offers individual therapy, group skills training, cultural supervision and presents at seminars, conferences and in organisational settings. Mihiteria has trained in Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural, Dialectical Behavioural, and Trauma focused therapies.
